COM7thFLEET Band (1962-1964)

Com7thFleet Band reported aboard the USS Providence, CLG-6, flagship in Sept. 1962 and rotated off the ship in April 1964.  The band held its first, and only, reunion, in July 2006. Members of the band were:
Chief Norman E. LaPell
Trumpets: Gene Brown, John Plett, Tom McKinney, Gaudencio Alfonso
Trombones: Walt Wortendyke, David Courson, Bob Hughes, Tom Senft
Saxes: Gene Atkinson, Bob Sargent,  Wayne Fowble, Roger Ambill (MU2), Jim Robb
Piano: Lanny Hartley Bass: Marlowe Scholten Drums: Larry Schowalter
