"USS Yorktown, CVA-10 during the Korean Conflict. I've attached a photo made on the hanger deck of our dance band playing for a happy hour. I'm the guy playing trumpet. The bass player is Lowell Miller and he should have made it big time. He sat in with Dave Brubeck at the Black Hawk in San Francisco once when we were in port. Our chief was "Cozy" Cole (in khakis) and he was a great trombonist and just a crazy character. The officers and crew of the Yorktown just loved him."
